First-Look

The whole book, read closely. The verdict, delivered fast.

What is it?

You finished the draft. Now you’re too close to it. Before you spend three months revising the wrong things, the First-Look tells you where the real work is.

I read the whole manuscript front to back without stopping to annotate. That continuous read is the point. It’s the closest thing there is to knowing how a stranger experiences your book: where they lean in, where they skim, where they would put it down.

Then I write you a short letter naming the three or four issues that matter most, why they matter, and where your next pass should focus first. The big picture, clearly stated, at the lowest price per word I offer, because sometimes what a finished draft needs first is a verdict.

Who is it for?

Writers with a finished manuscript who want fast, whole-book feedback

Writers preparing to query agents and want a gut-check first

Writers who want the big picture before committing to a full Assessment
